Dear Uncle Jiggs,

As the celebration of Aunt Carol's life begins later this afternoon, Bev and are I thinking of you and Aunt Carol. Aunt Carol was a person whose thoughtfulness and always upbeat attitude made others feel special. Through her caring, Aunt Carol just had a special gift for making others feel good. She was as selfless as a person can be. With sincere, genuine interest, she would always ask about your life, how you were doing and how your family was doing. I am especially thankful for the great time we had this past Christmas at Kristi's house. One of the memories I will treasure will be of Aunt Carol and Ally having several lively games of ping-pong with lots of smiles and laughs that day. She was truly a remarkable person. To have an aunt like Carol and an uncle like you is a blessing. I am thankful that she was my aunt and that Bev and the kids got to know her in the same way that I did.

Our sympathies to Jiggs, Kitty, Kristi, and the extended family-- My husband Steve and I were delighted by the glad welcome Carol gave our son Greg when he married Allison, the Kaliher family's first grandchild. More recently, Carol was so clearly thrilled by the news of Baby X's upcoming birth, the pending arrival of the family's first great-grandchild-to-be.

Carol, it was a blessing to have known you. We will very much miss your gracious, happy, frequent notes, cards, and smiles. Those you loved were truly your priority, and the way in which you embraced life provided a model for us all. Our memories of you, of how you could light up a room and make each person there feel the warmth of your attention, will live on.

We're unable to be present physically for the memorial service on August 1st, but we will attend in spirit.

Carol and Jiggs came to CUMC the same year Jeanette and I did, and became close friends due to Jeanette's having Hodgkins like Kandi. It was always a pleasure to run into Jiggs at Police Hdqtrs doing some business at Central Files, or sharing at a UMM dinner. Carol was always seen in the Choir sharing her love of music, and my most memorable occaision was when Carol, Beth, and Jeanine came to my house to clean and prepare for the many guests that would come after Jeanette passed away in April, 1993. Carol touched so many lives in such a Blessed Way. It will be hard not to see her on my next visit to VB. Jiggs, your friendship over the past 30 years has been priceless and my prayers are with you and your family. Such a supporter of Lees Friends and a fellow supporter of Law Enforcement and service to our country. God Bless! Jerry

The loss of Carol saddens me deeply. The world has lost an amazingly loving, caring, kind and joyous person. I have such fond and happy memories involving her--she always seemed to have a smile on her face and to be laughing about something.. Her joy was a wonderful thing to experience. I will miss her--she was a beautiful human being.

We just love aunt Carol. She taught us so much how to be loving and honest in God's eyes. She was always happy and inspirational. She always wanted to take care of you. She was a big kid in her heart and you saw that when she was around our children. It is heartbreaking to think she is gone from this world but we'll see her in the next. We love and will miss you, Carol.
